Chinese businessman Ross Boss has fired back at Verydarkman, responding in detail to the allegations of fraud and deceit recently made against him by the outspoken Nigerian activist. The exchange between the two former associates has sparked widespread online discussion and mixed reactions from fans across social media platforms.
The controversy began after Verydarkman (VDM) posted a video accusing Ross Boss of allegedly engaging in suspicious business practices. In the viral clip, VDM warned his followers not to transact with Ross based on their previous association, claiming that certain things he observed during their time together raised red flags.

In the video, VDM, known for his fearless approach to social commentary, accused Ross of questionable dealings and advised Nigerians to be cautious when doing business with him. He alleged that despite their travels together in China, he discovered actions that made him doubt Ross’s integrity.
Ross Boss reacts angrily to VDM’s claims
In a swift response, Ross Boss, who is well-known in trading circles for dealing in fairly used clothes, commonly referred to as “Okrika,” released multiple videos addressing the accusations. The Chinese businessman strongly denied any wrongdoing, calling VDM’s allegations baseless and harmful to his reputation.
“You’re too childish, too immature. Ross thought you were a mature person. You personally attack and defame a boss who’s willing to pay you and arrange everything for you,” Ross said in one of his responses.
He went on to accuse VDM of trying to tarnish his image without evidence, stating that he has been successfully doing business with clients from Nigeria and other African countries for several years without any complaints of scamming or dishonesty.
“Before knowing you, I did business with Nigerian clients for eight years. They won’t stop working with Ross because of one video from you. I don’t know how many of your supporters have bought over $10,000 from Ross, but trust me, it’s not more than ten clients. No client would pay an extra $1,000 just because you’re VDM and like Ross, nor would any client choose to buy more expensive, lower-quality goods just because you, VDM, said you don’t like Ross,” he said firmly.
Ross maintained that his reputation remains intact among his existing customers, emphasizing that the partnership he had with VDM brought him few new clients, most of whom made small purchases. He accused VDM of exaggerating his influence and trying to take undue credit for his business growth.
Ross addresses claims about the Canton Fair
The dispute deepened when VDM mentioned the Canton Fair—a globally recognized event known officially as the China Import and Export Fair—claiming he was the one who helped Ross gain entry to the trade exhibition. In response, Ross dismissed the claim, stating that he did not rely on VDM’s influence to participate in the fair.
Ross explained that he personally paid four African friends who assisted him in accessing the event. According to him, his entry had nothing to do with VDM’s intervention but was a straightforward transaction like any other business arrangement.
“Ross pays everyone who helps me with anything. Four African friends took me to the Canton Fair, and I paid each of them $100. VDM @verydarkblackman, you said it’s because of your influence that Ross paid $100. Without your influence, I’d still pay $100,” he said in a follow-up video.
He further stated that he respects Nigeria and its people but expressed disappointment that VDM had turned their business relationship into a public scandal. Ross emphasized that he prefers to focus on building trust with his clients rather than engaging in social media drama.
Fans react as feud escalates online
The ongoing clash between the two men has generated widespread reactions on social media. Some of VDM’s supporters sided with him, praising his courage for speaking out against alleged fraud, while others criticized him for dragging a former associate publicly without presenting solid proof.
Meanwhile, many Nigerians in the business community called for restraint and urged both parties to settle their differences privately rather than through social media exchanges. A few even noted that such public disputes could harm international business relations between African entrepreneurs and foreign partners.
Despite the back-and-forth, both men continue to stand by their versions of the story. Ross Boss insists he has done nothing wrong, while VDM maintains that he is only trying to protect people from falling victim to potential deceit. As the drama unfolds, social media remains abuzz with debates over who to believe.
