Chinese businessman, Ross Boss, has reignited his feud with controversial Nigerian social commentator, Verydarkman (VDM), by launching a lengthy online tirade accusing him of deceit, hypocrisy, and using falsehoods to gain social media relevance.
Taking to Facebook, Ross Boss expressed disappointment over what he described as VDM’s “habit of tarnishing people’s reputations for views and engagement.” He claimed that the self-acclaimed activist’s approach to addressing corruption and social issues has become more about personal fame than genuine reform.

Ross Boss accuses VDM of using falsehoods for clout
Ross Boss stated that while he respects individuals who criticize the government to promote accountability, he finds it unacceptable for anyone to attack private businesses or entrepreneurs without concrete evidence. He said such actions not only damage reputations but also threaten livelihoods and discourage investors.
“In America, criticizing the government is allowed—it helps improve governance,” he said. “But attacking businesses without facts destroys jobs and dreams. When someone spreads lies, companies lose trust and money fixing their image.”
The businessman lamented that people like VDM are doing more harm than good to Nigeria’s progress by misinforming the public. He accused the activist of being “driven by online fame rather than genuine concern for justice.”
He claims to have supported VDM in the past
In his lengthy post, Ross Boss alleged that he once supported VDM materially and financially, claiming to have gifted him expensive items such as clothes and an iPhone. Despite this, he said VDM has continued to attack him and other innocent business owners in public, portraying them as corrupt or exploitative without justification.
“This young man, VDM, used my gifts—an iPhone, clothes, and more—but still spread lies about me and people I care about,” Ross wrote. “He hasn’t built a company, created jobs, or sold a single product, yet he talks down on those who do.”
Ross further accused VDM of manipulating his followers, saying the activist profits from Facebook views while his fans gain nothing tangible in return. “VDM says his fans are poor, but instead of helping them earn money, he feeds them gossip. He’s selling phone accessories because he knows they can’t afford big dreams like electric cars. He uses them to grow his pocket,” Ross added.
Calls for followers to seek productivity over drama
Ross Boss urged VDM’s supporters to stop engaging in online fights and instead focus on improving their lives through hard work and productivity. He said, “VDM supporters, go get jobs, take care of your families, and stop wasting time defending someone who doesn’t care about your progress.”
Despite his harsh criticism, Ross claimed that his words were motivated by concern rather than hatred. He noted that he had chosen not to rally his own supporters against VDM on Chinese social media, emphasizing that the young man still has time to turn his life around.
“Ross doesn’t want his people attacking VDM. He’s young and can still change. If he starts helping others and focuses on impact instead of drama, that’s real love and success,” Ross wrote.
He ended his post by thanking those who supported him and encouraged Nigerians to distinguish between genuine critics who promote accountability and opportunists who thrive on online chaos.
