Isreal DMW, the popular logistics manager of music superstar Davido, has cried out over the worsening cases of kidnappings ravaging Edo State, calling on the Federal Government to urgently intervene before the situation escalates further.
Taking to his Instagram page, Isreal DMW shared a disturbing video showing a young lady allegedly abducted by kidnappers. In the heartbreaking footage, the visibly distressed victim begged for her life while her captors demanded a ransom, exposing the growing insecurity in the region.
Reacting to the incident, Isreal DMW urged the Federal Government, the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agencies to step in immediately and rescue innocent citizens from the grip of kidnappers who have turned Edo highways into danger zones.
He lamented that the abductions have become a daily occurrence, with both residents and travellers living in constant fear. “The Federal Government should please come to our aid in Edo State. The kidnapping is becoming too much,” he pleaded.
Growing insecurity sparks national concern
The viral clip quickly spread across social media, attracting nationwide outrage and reigniting discussions about the deteriorating security situation in Edo State. Many Nigerians in the comment section echoed Isreal’s concern, demanding stronger actions from both state and federal authorities to protect lives and restore peace.
Observers have linked the increase in kidnappings to poor road patrol systems, unemployment, and lack of technological surveillance across key routes, particularly along Benin–Ekpoma–Auchi roads. Communities within these corridors have reported multiple incidents in recent months, often involving violent ransom negotiations and tragic losses.
Security experts have also called for coordinated intelligence operations between federal and state task forces, community policing initiatives, and deployment of drone surveillance to identify and dismantle criminal hideouts across forests in Edo and neighbouring states.
Isreal’s emotional plea joins a growing list of public figures and civil society advocates demanding that urgent security reforms and interventions be implemented to save lives and rebuild citizens’ confidence in government protection mechanisms.
