Reality TV star, Phyna, has taken to social media to share a distressing experience, accusing an Abuja-based hotel of putting her life in danger and unlawfully detaining her over alleged property damages valued at ₦3.5 million. The former Big Brother Naija winner voiced her outrage and frustration in a series of emotional posts, sparking widespread reactions across social media platforms.
This revelation came shortly after a video showing Phyna in a heated altercation at a hotel in Abuja went viral, with many fans expressing concern for her safety. The clip circulated rapidly online, prompting speculation about what might have led to the confrontation.
Phyna laments detention
In a series of lengthy posts shared via her Instagram stories, Phyna narrated how the management of a hotel located in the Swarinpa area of Abuja allegedly failed to provide her with security, instead exposing her to danger. She claimed that a group of unidentified men gained access to her room through the hotel’s main gate and reception, with the full knowledge of the staff on duty.
According to Phyna, the men reportedly broke down the door to her second-floor room, attempting to attack her in what she described as a traumatic encounter. She further alleged that the hotel staff deliberately disclosed her room number to the intruders, leaving her defenseless and terrified.
Phyna bemoans her fate
Expressing deep pain and disappointment, Phyna lamented the series of misfortunes that had befallen her in 2025, stating that the year had been emotionally draining and filled with unimaginable challenges. The reality star heartbreakingly mentioned that she wished the year had taken her instead of her late sister, Ruth, showing the depth of her grief and despair.

“Bcuz I’m Phyna, I’m being forced by a hotel that could not secure me in their premises. An hotel that allowed touts through their main gate, through reception up till 2nd floor to bang, break down the door, same hotel that told the touts my room number. I’ve never seen that type of thing.”
She continued, “Omo, this 2025 for just take me leave my sister. Dalchifit Hotel in Swarinpa allowed touts to come into the hotel to fight me and now they are about to lock me up till Monday cuz I refused to pay a damage of ₦3.5 million. Please, I’m in prison rn. Dalchifit Hotel…….”
The post has since generated a wave of reactions, with fans, fellow celebrities, and social media users expressing shock and demanding that authorities intervene. Many have called for a full investigation into the hotel’s alleged misconduct, while others urged Phyna to stay strong and seek legal redress.
