Wunmi, the widow of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has once again voiced her frustrations amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the DNA test for her son, Liam, sparking renewed discussions online and among fans of the late artist.
In a heartfelt Instagram story shared recently, Wunmi expressed her disappointment after another Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) reportedly withdrew from the high-profile DNA case, a development that she feels has contributed to unnecessary delays and complications in determining the truth.
Addressing her father-in-law directly, Wunmi stated her frustration over what she described as persistent attempts to manipulate public perception and stall the legal process. She made it clear that no amount of legal maneuvering can change scientific facts, emphasizing the reliability and indisputability of DNA testing. “Another lawyer, a whole SAN, has withdrawn from the case. To my father-in-law, you can get as many lawyers as you want from anywhere in the world, but one thing is certain, you cannot manipulate this DNA,” she asserted.
Wunmi further stressed that she has consistently cooperated with authorities regarding the DNA test and has never opposed or refused to take any steps required by law. She reassured the public that her actions have always been in full compliance with legal procedures. “We have cooperated from day one. We have never opposed a DNA test. We showed up. We waited. We followed the law,” she added, underlining her commitment to transparency and justice for her son.
This latest controversy follows a recent court order that restricted public commentary from Baba Mohbad, Yomi Fabiyi, Bukky Jesse, Larry Omodia, and Adewale Mariam, barring them from making statements or inciting remarks about Wunmi and her son Liam for a period of one year. The order was intended to prevent further public agitation and protect the integrity of the ongoing legal proceedings.
Reaffirming her faith in the legal system and the power of truth, Wunmi concluded her message by asserting that neither the court nor scientific evidence can be manipulated. She expressed hope that justice would ultimately prevail, not only for Liam, her late husband Mohbad, but also for the principles of fairness and accountability. With the court date of November 11 approaching, she remains resolute in her pursuit of the truth.
