A Nigerian lady has sparked widespread discussion online after opening up about her recent experience with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey’s well-known online worship program, the Hallelujah Challenge. The lady, identified on TikTok as @kosyuncut, candidly revealed that despite her previous excitement for the spiritual movement, she surprisingly couldn’t maintain the same energy this year.
In a video she shared, Kosy explained that she had always looked forward to past editions of the Hallelujah Challenge with enthusiasm, often staying up late to worship, sing, and pray along. However, this year’s experience was quite different as she found herself unable to concentrate or even stay connected for long.
“I Joined But Left After 10 Minutes”
According to her, she finally decided to join one of the recent live sessions of the Hallelujah Challenge, only to find herself feeling unexpectedly tired and disconnected. Despite her best intentions, she admitted she couldn’t last up to ten minutes before leaving the live session.
She confessed that her sudden disinterest made her question her spiritual discipline and passion, wondering whether she had lost her fire for prayer or if she simply didn’t feel the same need she once had.
Admits Feeling Spiritually Tired and Emotionally Overwhelmed
Kosy explained that her lack of engagement had nothing to do with disbelief or disregard for the spiritual program. Rather, she described feeling emotionally drained and mentally exhausted, making it difficult for her to participate actively despite her genuine love for worship and the Hallelujah Challenge community.
In her words:
“Why haven’t I joined the Hallelujah Challenge? Have you been joining the Hallelujah Challenge since it started? I can’t be the only one who has not joined the Hallelujah Challenge since it started. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the Hallelujah Challenge, I’m a fan of it. I used to do the previous ones, but this particular one I haven’t joined. I’m just so tired and overwhelmed.”
“So yesterday, I actually joined. You know, I saw Pastor Nathaniel, he was live, and I joined, and trust me, I didn’t spend up to 10 minutes on that live. I was so sleepy, and I left. And I kept asking myself, why am I so unserious? Does it mean that I don’t have problems that I want to pray about? I don’t have things that I want God to do for me? Of course, I have things that I want God to do for me. But I’m not just up to it, I don’t know why, and I don’t know if I’m the only one that this thing is happening to.”
She Seeks Others Who Feel the Same Way
Kosy’s heartfelt confession didn’t end there — she went on to express curiosity about whether others were going through a similar experience. She wondered if other Christians also found themselves struggling to stay spiritually consistent despite their love for God and prayer.
She said:
“You want to join, but you don’t see yourself joining. I want to know if there are people like me. Please let me know. Have you been doing the Hallelujah Challenge? And if you’ve not been doing it, why haven’t you been joining and praying with them on the challenge? Tell me, because I really like to know. My own has just not been up to it; I don’t just feel like it, that’s it, nothing more. I can’t be the only one.”
Netizens React
Her honesty quickly caught the attention of thousands of viewers online, leading to mixed reactions. Some people praised her for being sincere about her spiritual struggles, noting that many others often experience the same kind of fatigue but are too afraid to admit it. Others encouraged her to take time to rest and reconnect with God personally instead of feeling guilty.
Several users also pointed out that spiritual burnout can happen to anyone, especially in a fast-paced world where people constantly juggle work, stress, and personal challenges. They appreciated that her post reminded others to be kind to themselves during low spiritual seasons.
