Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye, the highly respected wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has shared a shocking testimony of how God saved her family from what could have been a tragic start to the year.
Fondly known as Mummy G.O., she recounted the frightening experience during a church gathering, emphasizing how divine discernment protected their household from a dangerous situation involving poisoned food.
A Suspicious Food Gift on New Year’s Day
Mummy G.O. explained that the incident happened on January 1st, a day when family, friends, and church members traditionally visit their home to celebrate the New Year and share joy with them.
Among the many gifts brought into the house that day was a container of food. While nothing about it seemed unusual on the surface, she said she felt a sudden uneasiness the moment she saw it.
“Someone brought poisoned food to our house on New Year’s Day when people were around to celebrate with us. Immediately I saw it in the kitchen, my spirit was troubled. I knew something was not right,” she narrated.
Holy Spirit Prompting Leads to Quick Action
Trusting the inner warning she believed came from God, Pastor Folu immediately instructed those around her not to serve the food to anyone in the house. Instead, she directed that it be taken outside and given to the dog.
Her instincts proved right shortly after.
“I told them to give the food to the dog. After about an hour, the gateman came to tell me the dog had died,” she said, highlighting the gravity of what could have happened if the food had been shared among those present.
A Tragedy Averted — And a Call to Spiritual Sensitivity
Visibly grateful, she thanked God for exposing the evil plot before harm could occur. She reminded believers that the Holy Spirit often gives warnings in subtle ways and encouraged them to always pay attention when they feel uneasy in their spirit.
“It could have been a disaster if anyone had eaten that food. We must always listen to God’s warnings and trust the leading of the Holy Spirit,” she urged.
Her testimony has sparked conversations among worshippers and online viewers who expressed gratitude for God’s protection over the Adeboye family and reflected on the importance of spiritual alertness in everyday life.
